It’s been about 19 months since Akai Gurley was shot and killed while visiting the Pink Houses in East New York, Brooklyn by NYPD officer Peter Liang. In our discussion we’ll start by hearing facts about Liang’s conviction and trial process that led to his minimal sentencing, the key players that dictated that outcome and the responses seen throughout the city.
